Community Bank has begun the process of reissuing all of our customer’s debit cards with a new “Chip” card. Completing the process will take approximately 6 months. Your new card will have a different look, however it will have the same card number with a new expiration date. We ask that you please begin using the new Chip Card as soon as possible, regardless of the expiration date indicated on your existing card. This new Chip card is being implemented to assist in fraud prevention and to counteract the threat of cards being counterfeited by criminals.
In addition to issuing new Chip enabled debit cards, Community Bank is implementing the systematic blocking of all non-USA transactions. Many countries are already blocked on our system due to known fraud activity. We ask that when you are traveling outside the USA or wish to make an online non-USA purchase, to please contact us to unblock the applicable country code. Simply contact your local bank branch or place a call to the number on the back of your card. This line is answered daily from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday – Saturday, and 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sundays for your convenience.
