Community Bank makes gift to Early Learning Collaboratives throughout Mississippi
Community Bank has recently made a total of $200,000 in gifts to Early Learning Collaboratives throughout the state of Mississippi. This gift will assist these organizations in providing pre-kindergarten services, helping children develop the needed skills to succeed throughout their lives.
“Community Bank is honored to support such a worthy cause as these Early Learning Collaboratives around Mississippi,” said Chuck Nicholson, Community Bank’s President and CEO. “Early childhood education gives a child the ability to prosper throughout the rest of their lives – our hope is through these contributions, we will continue to see the children of Mississippi prosper.”
Community Bank made $50,000 contributions to Early Learning Collaboratives in Monroe, George, Lamar and Sunflower Counties. Through these contributions, up to 80 full time pre-k students will be able to attend the early learning collaborative in their respective county.
Early childhood education is noted to reduce the need for special education in elementary school and beyond, as well as, increasing the likelihood of high school graduation. “Having access to a high quality education is a crucial component to the success of our local communities,” continued Nicholson, “Each of these Early Learning Collaboratives are making a vital impact on our local communities, and we at Community Bank are proud to play a part in that.”
