Thomas Elected to Board of Directors
Freddie J. Bagley, Chairman of the Board for Community Bancshares, Inc is proud to announce that Worth H. Thomas has been elected to the Board of Directors for Community Bancshares Inc., the holding company for Community Bank.
Worth Hal Thomas is principal owner of WT Consultants, a legislative and regulatory consultant to Fortune 500 companies and state agencies. Thomas has more than thirty years of experience as a registered lobbyist and thirty years as a corporate/government executive. Prior to forming his own company, Thomas served as Chief of Staff and Special Assistant to Mississippi’s Attorney General.
Thomas is a 1974 graduate of Tougaloo College, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts. Thomas then graduated from Harvard University in 1982, where he earned his Master of Public Administration. Active in the community, Thomas serves on the Board of Directors for Methodist Children’s Home, Mississippi Food Network, and Mississippi Department of Finance – Capitol Complex Improvement District Advisory Board. He also is a member of Blue Ridge YMCA Assembly and serves as a life member for NAACP. In addition to his professional service, Thomas has served in multiple capacities throughout the community. He has negotiated and secured over $2 billion in funded projects for clients, spearheaded both relief and fund-raising efforts for American Red Cross Katrina Relief efforts in Mississippi, where he helped raise over six million dollars within 30 days. He co-hosted “Direct Line”, a television community awareness show sponsored by Jackson State University. He authored “A Formula for Effective Leadership”, presently used by the Mississippi Economic Development Council to train members of the Mississippi State Legislature. He also coordinated a one million dollar research project on youth unemployment for the US Department of Labor and City University of New York.
