Community Bank recently donated 100 lifesaving hammers to the City of Leland. This donation was sparked after the tragic drowning of two children in Deer Creek this Spring. The donation will equip first responders in the area with a tool that will break glass and cut seatbelts.

“We are proud to be able to give back to the local community in this small way,” said Marc Petro, President, Community Bank’s Hinds/Madison Division and native of Leland, “Having grown up in this community, with my dad being a 57 year volunteer fireman, we hope this donation will allow first responders to have the ability to break windows and cut seatbelts, should another water submersion occur.”
